FINNISH SAGAS AND FOLK MUSIC
The American star violinist Hilary Hahn is the Belgian National Orchestra’s guest. The programme features the Violin Concerto by the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. Obsessed by Finnish sagas, lakes and forests, Sibelius combines a late romantic style with a modern Nordic sound aesthetics in this work. The Violin Concerto is without doubt one of Sibelius’ best works.
