Selected violin concertos.

The Queen Elisabeth Competition is a household name at home and abroad. Since its establishment in the 1930s, the competition has become one of the most prestigious reference points for up-and-coming musical talent in the classical music world. Alternating editions are organised for violin, piano, voice and cello.

In 2025, the famous Concours will once again be dedicated to the violin, with violinists from all over the world competing for the coveted Queen Elisabeth Competition prizes. Discover two of the six laureates in this concert!

This concert is conducted by the German conductor Elias Grandy, who makes his debut with Belgian National Orchestra. From 2015 to 2023, Elias Grandy was music director of the Heidelberg Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra, where he significantly raised the caliber of both: with his thoughtful, innovative programming, he contributed to the city's fast-growing reputation as a vital musical center. Most recently, he made his debut with orchestras such as the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra and the Minnesota Orchestra. As of 2025, he is chief conductor of Japan's Sapporo Symphony Orchestra.
